“Given everything Tabi has gone through since she was a child, being pregnant should be the last thing on her mind at that age. However, the events have reminded me of a popular adage that goes, “A leaf does not fall far from its tree.” To put it another way, a child’s behavior is influenced by his or her parents’.”

Life can be likened to a winding road; some parts smooth and others riddled with gravel and rock. For “Tabi” it seemed as if her journey would be a rocky one, peppered with obstacles and barriers as tough as stone.

Having been born in desperate poverty, Tabi’s life would become an uphill battle against the odds. As she navigated loss and sadness, heartbreak in love, shame and despair, the obstacles were proving to be stepping stones; precious stones that lead her to a horizon of hope. 

This story is for anyone who has disqualified themselves from the joys of life because of their background, circumstance or shortcomings. She is proof that life is precious, flaws and all.
